Report a bug
Send a problem straight from Sarastar, and choose exactly what's included.
The quickest way to tell us about a problem is from inside Sarastar: the report arrives with the details we need to find it.
Send a report
- In Sarastar, open the Help menu and choose Report a bug.... (It's also on the Account page, under Help and privacy.)
- Give it a Title, and describe What happened, and what you expected.
- Choose what to include:
- The end of Sarastar's log, with your user folder removed (on by default)
- A screenshot of the viewport (off by default)
- A file, using Attach a file.... Project files are never attached unless you choose one here.
- To check everything before it goes, choose Show exactly what will be sent.
- Choose Send.
If you're offline, the report waits and sends when you reconnect.
Every report also includes Sarastar's version and channel, your operating system, graphics card and driver, and a rough memory size, but nothing that identifies your projects.
Limits: up to 5 files and 25 MB per report, and 20 reports a day.
Crash reports and usage data
The first time Sarastar opens, Privacy and diagnostics asks how to handle:
- Crash reports: Off, Ask each time or Always send. They're stored in the EU and deleted after 90 days.
- Usage analytics: which features are used, to guide what we build. On for alpha testers; off unless you turn it on for beta and stable.
Change either later from the Account page: Help and privacy, then Crash reports and usage data.
If Sarastar closes unexpectedly and you chose Ask each time, it asks whether to Send report the next time it opens.
