The Sarastar community at community.sarastar.com.au is where people who use Sarastar ask questions, share what they've made and tell us what to build next. These guidelines keep it useful and safe. By posting, you agree to follow them, along with the Sarastar licence agreement and, if you're an alpha tester, the Alpha Tester Agreement.
1. Be helpful and respectful
- Treat people the way you would at work. Disagree with ideas, not people.
- No harassment, discrimination, threats or personal attacks.
- Keep posts on topic, in the right category, and search before you ask. Your question may already have an answer.
- When a reply solves your question, mark it as the solution so others can find it.
2. Keep confidential information out
Mining data is often confidential. Before you post, check you're allowed to share it.
- Don't post your employer's or clients' confidential information: project files, designs, drill and blast data, schedules, survey data, coordinates, mine or company names, or anything else you don't have permission to share.
- Remove names, coordinates and identifying details from screenshots and example files. Where you can, recreate the problem with a small made-up example instead.
- Don't post anyone's personal information, including your own phone number or address.
3. The alpha stays in the alpha
During the alpha, the whole forum is open only to alpha testers and Sarastar staff. What you see here about unreleased versions is confidential under the Alpha Tester Agreement.
- Don't share screenshots, videos, details or files from the forum or from alpha builds outside it.
- When the forum opens to everyone at the Public Beta, discussion of anything not yet released belongs in the private Alpha testers category.
4. Advice here is not engineering sign-off
Answers come from other users and from our team, and are general information only.
- Check any advice, script or setting before you rely on it, and follow your site's procedures.
- Designs, estimates and plans made with Sarastar need review by a suitably qualified person before anyone relies on them, as the licence agreement explains.
5. Bugs, security and support
- Report bugs from the app (Help → Report a bug). Reports sent that way include the details we need and stay private. Staff may post a known issue in Bug reports so everyone can follow it.
- Never post a security problem publicly. Email support@sarastar.com.au instead.
- For anything about your account, licence or billing, use the contact page rather than the forum.
6. No spam or selling
- No advertising, promotion or recruiting without our permission.
- Sharing your own scripts, templates and designs in Show and tell is welcome. Say if something you link to is paid.
7. What you post
- You keep ownership of what you post. You let Sarastar host, show, copy and adapt it so it can appear on the forum and in our documentation, and let other members use it to learn and to work with Sarastar.
- Ideas and feedback you share (including feature requests) can be used by Sarastar freely, without payment or any obligation to you, as the Alpha Tester Agreement and licence agreement describe.
- Only post content you have the right to share, and don't post other people's work as your own.
8. Moderation
- Use the flag button to tell moderators about a post that breaks these guidelines.
- Moderators may edit, move, hide or remove posts, and may warn, silence or suspend accounts that break these guidelines or the licence agreement. We explain why where we can.
- If you think a decision was wrong, message the Sarastar team on the forum or email support@sarastar.com.au.
9. Your privacy
The privacy policy explains what the forum stores, who can see it and where it's hosted. You can change what others see in your forum preferences, and edit or delete your own posts.
10. Changes
We may update these guidelines as the community grows. We'll change the date at the top and post in Announcements when a change is significant.
